The Mythologium is a conference and retreat for mythologists and friends of myth. Mythologists present their latest research, and you explore your responses through discussions, poetry, and writing reflections. July conference is both online and in CA.
Myths and fairytales give expression to unconscious processes, and their retelling causes these processes to come alive again and be recollected, thereby re-establishing the connection between conscious and unconscious.
~CG Jung

Fairy tales are the simplest and purest expressions of the collective unconscious and thus offer the clearest understanding of the basic patterns of the human psyche.
- Jungian analyst Marie Louise Von Franz
The more we experience of our own psychic development, the better we are able to perceive the fairy tale. It responds in depth to the kind of depth we have achieved ourselves.
- Jungian David Hart, The Psychology of a Fairy Tale
Fairy tale characters & their constellations are divested of all personal trappings, thus in them unconscious processes can be seen in their typical forms. The psychology of the unconscious can learn a great deal from fairy tales since they describe essential human archetypal phenomena. Carl Jung went so far as to define fairy tales as the anatomy of the psyche.
- Psychotherapist Mario Jacoby
Like the alchemical vessel which contains all the opposites within itself, the fairy tale is a vessel of transformation.
